Selecting your design team

An oversubscribed school had a need for more accommodation and was asked by the local authority to take an additional form of entry. £4 million of funds were identified.

They then advertised locally and via OJEU spoke to 26 architects who heard our education vision for the school and submitted proposals.

23 proposals delivered to us exactly what we asked for.

3 architects challenged what we had said we wanted and delivered proposals that they thought would solve some of the underlying problems of the schools accommodation, while enhancing the ethos of the school and delivering the required accommodation.

What should replace BSF?

So, the BSF behemoth is no more. RIP BSF! But what should replace it as a way for schools and LAs to procure cost effective, fit for purpose new build or refreshment / refurbishment?
